MAGA Demons

Best line from last night’s speech from President Joe Biden:

“You can’t love your country only if you win.”

MAGA is bad news for our democracy. President Biden has a responsibility to let the country know they are dangerous.  Demonize those MFers.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump said yesterday he would pardon the January 6 insurrectionists. How many of those GOP members of congress who are hitting back at President Biden this morning support a pardon?

That is all you need to know. Like I said, demonize those MAGA MFers.

I don’t know much about ranked choice voting. If it kept Sarah Palin from winning a seat in congress from Alaska, it must have some merit.

I saw this yesterday:

Allen R. Parker Sr., a former city and state official who was active in the Acres Homes community, is being remembered as a dedicated public servant with a passion for politics and for helping others. He died Aug. 20 at age 81.

And this:

Parker was assistant deputy director of the City of Houston Department of Planning & Development and retired in 2008. Earlier in his career he was a labor leader with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 15 Union, which led to his appointment by Gov. Mark White as commissioner with the Texas Department of Labor and Standards.

Here is the entire story: Former city official Allen Parker dead at 81, remembered – DefenderNetwork.com.

I worked with Allen on Mark White’s campaign for governor in 1982. After we won, Gov. White appointed him commissioner.

I hadn’t talked to Allen in a few years. He was a great guy.

In the summer of 1975, hands down, the movie event was the release of “Jaws.” We had never seen anything like it. One of the all-time best movie scores.  This weekend you can catch “Jaws” in 3D and on an IMAX screen at an area theater near you.  I will be spending time with my Dad, so I don’t know if I will be able to check it out.

Just so you know, we went 17-11 in August. The September phase of the schedule begins this evening in Anaheim. We will have four off days this month, then play our final five games in the first five days of October. Got it?

Have a safe Labor Day Weekend.
