DPS Briefing
If it wasn’t so horrific and tragic, Lieutenant Frank Drebin from “The Naked Gun” flicks would have come across as more credible than the DPS at yesterday’s briefing. These guys are failing Texas right before our eyes and in broad daylight. It is sad and pitiful to watch. The Gov. Greg Abbott administration on full display. What a joke.
Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Texas GOP House Speaker Dade Phelan won’t appear in person at the NRA gathering in H-Town. I am guessing they have to spend that time getting their story straight on what happened or didn’t happen in Uvalde. These guys clowns, but you already know that.
Never in my life have I seen a more incompetent and dishonest state government. I have this feeling we are never going to know the truth on what really happened in Uvalde.
Commentary is hoping more folks from across the state are recognizing that the Texas GOP isn’t looking out for our welfare and safety. 19 elementary school children get executed and the Texas GOP does absolutely nothing. Nothing.
Meanwhile, we learned yesterday that a little girl in the classroom reached over and put her hands in the blood of a dead classmate and then smeared the blood on herself and acted like she was dead so the shooter wouldn’t shoot her. It is amazing that she would think to do that in an extremely dangerous moment. To muster up that strength and courage is just incredible.
And the Texas GOP does absolutely nothing. Cowards.

Astros Hall of Fame great Jeff Bagwell is 54 today. Happy Birthday, Baggy!
The Astros started the season with a nine-game road trip. We came home for six. We went back on the road for seven. Then we played seven at The Yard. Then back on the road for nine and just finished seven here. Tonight, we start a nine-game road trip in Seattle. Got it?
We have a 2 1/2 game lead in the AL West.
