Carol Alvarado, having a fun time at the White House yesterday.  President Joe Biden welcomed the 2022 World Series Champion Astros to the East Room for a congratulatory ceremony. Carol is seen with Hall of Fame great Reggie Jackson (advisor to owner Jim Crane) and World Series champs Jose Altuve, Justin Verlander, Chas McCormick, Alex Bregman, Ryan Pressly, Jeremy Pena, Jason Castro, Hector Neris, Jake Myers, and Christian Javier.

By now, everyone knows that Sen. Alvarado isn’t just a casual Astros fan. She is hardcore serious about her Astros. She will catch as many home games as possible at The Yard. She will travel to see them on the road during the regular season and postseason.  She is the leader of our text group called Baseball Buddies and will provide commentary during games. She will always stay up to watch the West Coast games when most of us are already asleep.

Heck, she even carried and passed legislation this past session to allow fans to purchase the Share2Care raffle tickets with their phone gizmos at The Yard during games. The Astros asked her to carry the bill.

I am glad she was part of yesterday’s celebration.

I am sure you might have heard of this from Cleveland.com:

Polls will open this morning in Ohio’s special election, giving voters one last chance to weigh in on State Issue 1.

After months of debate, voters will decide whether it should be harder to amend the state constitution and for the public to propose amendments and put them up for a vote. Issue 1 would do just that, setting a higher barrier for an abortion amendment on the November ballot as well as all future changes to the Ohio Constitution.

The GOP is up to their old tricks. Commentary will be watching the results this evening.
