Mexican Restaurants
Crooked arse GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton threw in the towel yesterday and conceded to the whistleblowers. What a crook. I wonder how Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and the GOP Texas State Senators who voted to acquit Paxton at his impeachment trial feel this morning. How about those GOP challengers who are running against GOP Texas State House members who voted to impeach Paxton. This is way too funny.

Commentary got this email yesterday:
My name is Sadie, and I am contacting you on behalf of the Karthik For Texas Campaign. We noticed you mentioned in yesterday’s campaign report article that Karthik has not filed his report. Our campaign has filed the report, but the TEC website has seemingly been running slow, and not been updated to show it yet.
Some highlights
1. We’ve raised over $280,000 this cycle (from over 600 individual donors)
2. We have over $117,000 cash on hand
3. We’ve knocked over 2,500 doors
4. We’ve made over 18,000 calls
Attached are our reports from January and July. If you could please update the article to include this information, we would greatly appreciate it.
Got it.

I saw this in the Chron yesterday:
A study from the Pew Research Center found Harris County has the second highest number of Mexican restaurants in the country.
Using data from Yelp and SafeGraph, the Pew Research Center did a data analysis of Mexican restaurants. It found that about 11% of all restaurants in the United States serve Mexican food with 40% of that percentage coming from California and Texas.
Los Angeles County has the most Mexican restaurants in the county with 5,484, followed by Harris County with 2,362. Harris County’s Mexican restaurants account for 17% of the state’s total.
Dallas County and Bexar County each account for 9% of the state’s Mexican restaurants.
Here is the entire read: Harris County has 2nd-most Mexican restaurants in the U.S., study says (houstonchronicle.com).
2,362 in Harris County alone. Wow!

Unless I get invited to a cool watch party tomorrow, I will be watching the Texans tomorrow at home. I don’t want to have to lug a chair and blanket to the official watch party in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Go Texans!
