Swift Factor
Let’s see. Last March, Taylor Swift launched her Eras Tour across the country. It would usually be two or three nights of shows on a weekend in major US cities like H-Town and Arlington, Texas. The concerts turned out to be economic booms for the local economy. You know, hotels, restaurants, rent cars, and folks spending their disposable dough.
The concerts last about three and a half hours and cover 44 songs. She even made a movie on the Eras tour.
She has made a ton of money and even gave the tour staff sizable bonuses last year.
Along the way, she met her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who had reached out to her at her performance at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City last July.
We all learned about Taylor and Travis being an item when she showed up at a Chiefs game in September.
Arguably, Swift is the most popular entertainer on the planet. Kelce now holds the record for most receptions in the playoffs, has two Super Bowl rings, and is likely headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. On his off week, a couple of so months ago, he jetted down to Argentine, to check out her concert.
Travis Kelce also did some ads for Pfizer, urging folks to get their flu shot and COVID-19 boosters at the same time. Commentary did last October.
When the Chiefs play, game viewership is up because of the Taylor-Travis factor. More young girls are watching. Folks went crazy after the Chiefs won on Sunday when Taylor rushed to the field to give her boyfriend a big hug and a kiss.
I saw a report on the Today show this morning that ad makers are getting TV ads ready that target young women for the Super Bowl game.
Who doesn’t love this, err love story?
Apparently, the talking heads on Fox News, far right-wing media, and MAGA world have a problem with the Taylor and Travis thing. They think it is some sort of President Joe Biden – Democratic Party – liberal media – NFL conspiracy. Huh?
There hasn’t been one iota of politics that has come out of the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce story. It is about a girl and a boy who like each other a lot. Nothing else. It is about the world’s most popular entertainer and a player for a very good team in the most popular American sport falling for each other.
America likes these kinds of stories and the folks at Fox News and MAGA world can’t handle it.
Apparently, the Donald Trump campaign is cooking up a plan to go after Taylor and Travis. Sad.
Go figure.

Trump sure owns a lot of GOP arses around the country and even here in Texas. He owns the arses of the arsehole Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and crooked AG Ken Paxton. He owns the arses of the Texas Supreme Court who are all GOPers. He owns the arse of the GOP Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan and endorsed Phelan’s GOP primary opponent. Phelan responded by letting folks know he will be voting for Trump again. Now that is what I call having your arse owned and giving thanks to the fella who owns your arse.
Subservience to the max. It is way too funny.

The featured photo is my neighbor’s house across the street and the renovation they are undergoing. Yesterday, I ran an errand and when I returned, the house across the street looked different. While I was gone for about 20 minutes, they raised his house three feet. They are having to replace the foundation. He says they will lower it a foot once the foundation is replaced. Wow!
Yep, as you can see, my green bin is still out there.
