Recurring Issue

This is from the “Today” website. They also had a story on it this morning:

People magazine is celebrating a major milestone.

On April 10, People Editor in Chief Wendy Naugle revealed exclusively on TODAY the magazine’s 50th anniversary issue, which includes on its cover Hollywood legends like Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston and Michael J. Fox.

The stars are also joined by Drew Barrymore, Viola Davis, Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Kidman, John Legend, Matthew McConaughey, Serena Williams and Reese Witherspoon.

The special issue will be available on newsstands on Friday, April 12.

I guess they couldn’t find a Latina or Latino for the cover. J-Lo and America Ferrera didn’t return their phone call, I guess.

Commentary has mentioned I have been going through old files and stuff, including past H-Town mayoral campaign clips and paraphernalia. You know what I have noticed what is a recurring issue?  Hiring more police. 200, 500, 1000 more H-Town police officers have been part of the campaign rhetoric for over 30 years now. A recurring issue for sure. How is it going?

When Commentary reads the Chron Sports Section, I glance at the high school scores to see if any of my hometown teams are standing out. Sure enough, Goose Creek Memorial is in the 5A Boys Soccer state semifinals. The Patriots play this Friday against Midlothian up in Georgetown, as in Georgetown, Texas. Goose Creek Memorial is located just north of I-10 on E. Wallisville Road off N. Main St. in Baytown.

Cereal is part of my breakfast rotation. It must be high in fiber like bran, raisin bran or shredded wheat. I got sent a coupon for a new cereal with a good amount of fiber. See the featured photo. I tried it this morning. No added sugar and it is like a not so crispy Trix. Even with the coupon it is a bit pricy.

We lost in extra inning last night. Five of our starting pitchers are on the injured list. Spencer Arrighetti will make his MLB debut this evening as our starting pitcher. He was a sixth-round pick in 2021. Good luck.
