Eight in a Row

This is new and interesting. I wonder if it is worth attending. See this from the Chron:

CenterPoint will start hosting community open house sessions this week, a part of the company’s initiative to improve service and communication following Hurricane Beryl’s impact in the Houston region

The company will host the sessions from Aug. 17 to Sept. 28 under the Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative. The first meeting will take place Saturday at the Tom Bass Community Center in Houston.

“We are committed to re-earning the trust of our customers, and these open houses are an important opportunity for us to share the actions we are taking and the progress we are making to improve in areas of greatest concern and, most importantly, to listen and gather feedback from our customers,” the company’s spokesperson wrote in an email.

Attendees will find stations with specific topics, including a table for people to sign up for a Power Alert Service, outage tracker demonstrations and a feedback board where customers can share their experience during Beryl and ideas for CenterPoint to improve.

CenterPoint representatives also plan to share specific information about the Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative, first announced Aug. 5, which has 40 commitments from the company to address customers’ concerns.

Participants can speak with CenterPoint’s team and discuss any questions and/or comments. The spokesperson said they will also share ways for customers to provide their insight and feedback.

The leadership team will also be present at the open houses to talk directly with the public about any issues and/or ideas customers have.

“We want our customers to hear directly from us how seriously we take that commitment, how determined we are to take action and re-earn their trust, and to hear directly from them about how and what we can do better going forward,” the spokesperson said.

The Astros have now won eight games in a row. All eight wins happened in Arlington, Fenway, and Tampa Bay. The win last night was in extra innings. We are 65-55 and now have a two and a half game lead in the AL West. 42 games remain on the regular season schedule. 23 at The Yard, and 19 roadies. We have come a long way since being 10 games behind in June.

The featured photo is about winning again.
