Eight Days
Election Day is in eight days. Let’s do this.
_____
This past Saturday was State Sen. Carol Alvarado’s birthday. See the featured photo. She celebrated by participating in GOTV efforts.
_____
Cancun Cruz is now airing an ad featuring Gov. Greg Abbott attacking Cong. Colin Allred. In the ad, Abbott says something to the effect that Cong. Allred is not Texas. Well, at least he isn’t Cancun. Cancun is feeling the heat.

MSNBC viewers were aghast yesterday afternoon as the cable news channel carried parts of the Donald Trump Madison Square Garden event live. MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin explained that MSNBC wanted its viewers to see firsthand how unhinged Trump is. Hey, Ayman and MSNBC, I think your viewers already know that. Oh, well.
_____
I said it last week, I think. Younger Latino males who are supporting or thinking about supporting Trump are pendejos. What came out at the rally yesterday about Latinos and Puerto Rico was vile and racist and reflects what MAGA is all about. Total disrespect for Latinos. Pendejos.

Fox News is saying it and so is “What Your Point” panelist, former Harris County GOP Chair Gary Polland. I am talking about their latest claim that Democrats always call the GOP nominee for president a fascist. I am not going to talk about the past. This year, 2024, it was Donald Trump’s former Homeland Security Department Secretary, and his former White House Chief of Staff, John Kelly, who called him a fascist. Kelly, a retired four-star general is not a Democrat.

I ran into someone Saturday morning who told me her father was one of those who got stiffed by Trump on a New York City business deal. To the tune of $1 million. Ouch.

It looks like the New York City Mayor who is under federal indictment is hoping for a Donald Trump win next week so he can line-up for a pardon. See this from Politico:
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Saturday that he does not believe Donald Trump to be a fascist, defending the Republican presidential nominee ahead of his rally in the blue bastion.
It wasn’t the first time that the Democratic mayor has staked out common ground with Trump, and it came as little surprise. Adams has consistently differentiated himself from other Democrats by repeatedly declining to criticize the former president.
Adams made his latest remarks at a press conference at New York Police Department headquarters discussing security a day before Trump is set to host a massive campaign rally at Manhattan’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
“I have heard those terms hurled at me by some political leaders in the city, using terms like Hitler and fascist,” the mayor said.
“My answer is no, I know what Hitler has done and I know what a fascist regime looks like,” Adams said when asked if he sees Trump as a fascist as Kamala Harris, Trump’s one-time chief of staff John Kelly and others do.
Adams called for the temperature to be turned down in the country’s political discourse and said Trump should be permitted to rally in Manhattan as a matter of free speech.
Like Trump, the mayor of the country’s biggest city has been indicted on federal charges and has alleged, without evidence, that he is the victim of political persecution by a retaliatory Biden administration. Trump expressed sympathy for Adams most recently at the recent Al Smith dinner in Manhattan, and Adams in the past has welcomed Trump’s support.

I guess the mayor of the Big Apple has to cover his arse, so to speak.

The Chron hard copy has a story today about a Holiday Inn Express/Staybridge Suites that is being built a couple of blocks from The Yard and that is all the news I have from The Yard.
