HISD Mail
It was way too funny last night when J.D. Vance complained about being fact checked by one of the CBS News moderators. It was like Vance was saying, hey, y’all agreed y’all wouldn’t call us out for lying. In a way, I am glad there will be no more debates. America is tired of the lies from Donald Trump and Vance.

I received a pro-HISD bonds mail piece yesterday. See the featured photo. It is better than nothing.

This is kind of crazy. See this from the Chron:
A Fort Bend ISD trustee is threatening legal action against a parent who resurfaced a decade-old lawsuit accusing him of interfering with a woman at an abortion clinic, causing a social media firestorm among constituents.
Trustee David Hamilton was sued in 2010 by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for pushing a woman outside an abortion clinic in Louisville, KY. According to legal documents, Hamilton allegedly pushed a woman’s arm as he attempted to deliver sidewalk counseling services to women seeking care at the clinic. Attorneys alleged that Hamilton violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, or FACE act, by attempting to use force to interfere with a woman receiving care.
Hamilton disputed the facts of the case, which was settled with a $2,500 payment, according to legal records, far less than the $20,000 in damages and civil penalties sought by the attorney general.
Hamilton took to social media early last week to demand that parent Kathy Houser delete her post about the lawsuit and apologize for resurfacing what he called “false and defamatory” statements accusing him of being “charged with assaulting women” on both her personal account and on a group page called “FBISD Concerns 2.0” by Tuesday.
After Hamilton’s post published, a war in the comments ensued. Some accused Hamilton of lying and condemned his actions toward constituents, and others took to his defense, saying the claims against him were unfair and unfounded.

From the I didn’t know this department. See this from the Chron:
For the past two seasons, the Houston Astros have worn an Oxy advertising patch on the left sleeve of their uniforms. When they opened their eighth straight trip to the postseason with a 3-1 loss to the Tigers on Tuesday, fans noticed the players wearing even more advertising. For the playoffs, the Astros and every other team have a Strauss ad on their batting helmets.
The ads, which are on both sides of the helmets, are five inches wide and almost an inch tall with white lettering and the company’s red logo. The logo will be an alternate color when it’s used on the Phillies’ red helmets in the next round of the playoffs.
Major League Baseball struck a deal with the German apparel company in September, allowing Strauss to put its branding on the helmets every postseason through 2027. The advertising also will appear on the helmets of the 120 affiliated minor league teams all season beginning next year and lasting through 2027.
