The October Surprise
This is how Donald Trump blew off the racist trashing of Puerto Rico at his hate rally at Madison Square Garden this past Sunday. See this from AP:
PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Donald Trump on Tuesday called his rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden, an event marked by crude and racist insults by several speakers, a “lovefest.”
That’s a term the former president also has used to reference the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Speaking to reporters and supporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump claimed “there’s never been an event so beautiful” as his Sunday night rally in his hometown of New York City.
“The love in that room. It was breathtaking,” he said. “It was like a lovefest, an absolute lovefest. And it was my honor to be involved.”
Maybe the punkarse insult of Puerto Rico will end up being the October Surprise of the 2024 election. Let’s see if it has an impact in Pennsylvania.
On Day 100 of her campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris knocked another one out of the ballpark last night at her Freedom Rally on the Ellipse. Her delivery was top notch.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden got into the trash talk mess. OH, brother.

By the end of today, Harris County will reach over one million voters who have voted early in person and by mail.
_____
This is stupid. See this from the Chron:
Three Houston-area Republicans have filed a lawsuit alleging that “tens of thousands” of people should be purged from the Harris County voter roll amid a national push to cast doubts on the November election.
Steven Hotze, Joseph Trahan and Caroline Kane are accusing Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett of failing to remove ineligible voters, claiming that the list of Harris County registered voters includes people who are disqualified from voting for a broad range of reasons, including those who have moved out of Harris County, are deceased or are registered at a commercial address where they do not reside, according to court documents.
“Many of those voters will cast ballots for Democratic candidates that are illegal and ineligible to be counted,” the plaintiffs allege in their petition.
Here is the entire read: Republican activists file lawsuit to purge Houston voters.
Commentary has been waiting for this. You would think that GOPers like State Sen. Paul Bettencourt would step in and call out Hotze and these other GOP whack jobs. Sen. Bettencourt, after all, led and sponsored the legislative effort to set up the current election operation in Harris County. The GOP can’t be criticizing the system they put in place. I don’t expect Bettencourt to step up and be courageous and defend the current system in Harris County.

It looks like it is going to rain tomorrow. We need it. I wonder if it will wash out trick or treaters on Halloween Night. The featured photo is some of the treats I will be handing out – maybe.
Speaking of, today is National Candy Corn Day. I am not handing it out. And I have never seen the movie “Candy Corn.”

There wasn’t a World Series sweep last night.
