Early Voting in Person started this morning at 7 am. You know what to do.
Commentary was out putting up signs at a bunch of Early Voting locations this past weekend. State Senator Carol Alvarado has a GOP opponent, so we take nothing for granted. One thing is for sure. It hasn’t rained in 26 days, so the ground is hard, making it difficult to place the yard signs. My run was from Webster to Baytown to a Lone Star College campus north of the Beltway.
I was out at West Gray yesterday morning and I ran into an ABC Channel 13 TV news crew doing an early vote story. They asked if they could interview me, and of course I agreed. Folks let me know that they saw me on the news last night and this morning.
I finally saw a pro-HISD bond TV ad this morning. Good for them.
This being the first day of Early Voting in person, the Chron E-Board has listed their 2024 endorsements. The E-Board endorsed 52 Democrats and 22 GOPers.

The media has gotten so numb to Donald Trump’s vulgarity. The Arnold Palmer description is the latest. GOP outrage is nonexistent. What a shame.

Hacienda Tacos y Tamales on Lawndale was the place to be this past Saturday afternoon. We celebrated Ida Alvarado’s 97th birthday. See the featured photo where H-Town Mayor John Whitmire presented Ida with her Ida Alvarado Day H-Town resolution. Ida’s five kids, Frank, Jr., Bobby, Liz, Yolanda, and State Sen. Carol, all proudly spoke about their mom. Carol is also in the featured photo.

Today is Commentary’s 72nd birthday. I have now voted in 14 presidential elections. 6 wins for Democratic presidential candidates, 7 for GOP candidates. Hopefully, we can tie it up in 15 days.

One thing is for sure. Since I have been an adult, just about all my birthdays have fallen during a political campaign I am working on.
I will have dinner with family this evening at Flora.
