Happy Thanksgiving Day Dinner

There isn’t much to say on this Thanksgiving Day. This morning, I have on the flat screen the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I never miss it.

There will be three NFL games today. You know who never plays each other on Thanksgiving Day? The Cowboys and the Lions. For as long as I can remember, the Cowboys and the Lions get to host the Thanksgiving Day games. It is a tradition, I guess.

The College Football Playoff (CFP) picture is starting to come into focus. Twelve teams will get selected. Four of the twelve will get a first-round bye. The remaining eight will play on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21 at the home field of the top four ranked teams. The winners will play the teams who earned a bye in the Fiesta, Peach, Rose and Sugar Bowls on Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1. The semifinals will be held at the Orange and Cotton Bowls on Thursday, January 9 and Friday, January 10. The National Championship Game is on Monday, January 20 in Atlanta. Got it?

Since you asked, yes, there is a Turkey, Texas. Up in Hall County in the Panhandle. Western swing king Bob Wills and professional gambler Amarillo Slim grew up in Turkey, Texas. I have no idea what folks in Turkey are called. Turks, Turkians, Gobblers. Folks from Turkey the country are called Turks or Turkish people.

It may not be pretty, but hopefully it is tasty. Commentary is talking about the pie that I baked yesterday that is in the featured photo. We will try it out this afternoon.
