Enron is Back
I saw this in the Thumbs Up/Down Chron E-Board editorial on Saturday:
Thumbs twiddled: In billboard-afflicted Houston, it takes a lot to get drivers’ attention — but a sign on I-69 North, between Westpark and Chimney Rock, gobsmacked commuters. There, after all these years, was the old crooked-E logo of Enron, once Houston’s pride and joy. Then, of course, the move-fast-and-break-things high-tech conglomerate collapsed in a wave of scandal on November 28, 2001 — a breathtaking crash of a size never before seen in the U.S., and one that took many of its employees’ life savings with it. And now? “We’re back,” the billboard declares. “Let’s talk.” Smaller type lists a social account that doesn’t seem to have fired up yet. Obviously, it’s a bid for attention — but for what? The smartypantses on Reddit’s r/wallstreetbets floated a semi-serious theory: “Enron,” they cracked, would be a great name for a new cryptocurrency.
The featured photo is a full-page ad on the back page of today’s Chron front section. I think an explanation from the Chron is warranted, please.

The lead story in today’s Chron hard copy is about needed repairs at NRG Stadium to the tune of $264 million over the next 20 years. Here is what I found interesting:
Unlike the Astros and Rockets, whose billionaire owners are on the hook for most renovations and maintenance needs at their stadiums, responsibility for NRG Stadium lies with the county, which owns the land at NRG Park. The lease imposes a first-class standard of the facilities, a requirement most agree is not being met.

Why does the owner of the Texans get a free ride. The NFL rakes in a lot of dough, err a ton of dough.

Folks know Commentary doesn’t think much of Hunter Biden. He cashed in on the Biden name and hurt his dad’s presidency. President Biden previously said he would not pardon his son. The President lied and GOPers are upset. Shut up!
GOPer never get upset when Donald Trump lies and lies.
GOPers won’t get upset when the insurrectionists get pardoned next year.
