Old Joe
From just another day of your MAGA Party department. See this from CBS News:
Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who briefly stood to become President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be attorney general, was found by congressional ethics investigators to have paid numerous women — including a 17-year-old girl — for sex, and to have purchased and used illegal drugs, including from his Capitol Hill office, according to a final draft of a comprehensive investigative report obtained by CBS News.
And this:
Among the report’s most lurid findings were the allegations of sex- and drug-fueled parties and travel, including a 2018 trip to the Bahamas where witnesses say he took ecstasy and had sex with four women.
“From 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz made tens of thousands of dollars in payments to women that the Committee determined were likely in connection with sexual activity and/or drug use,” noted the report, which lists payments totaling more than $90,000 to 12 different women.
Here is the entire CBS News read: Gaetz ethics report says his drug use, sex with a minor violated state laws.
I remember the old days, when this type of behavior got you into real trouble. Nope. Nowadays under the MAGA Party, you are lucky if you get a yawn.

Christmas Day is the day after tomorrow, or in two days.
I will make my tamale run this afternoon. I think I have everything that I need for Christmas Day.
Like always, this Christmas I took care of the person who handles my hair, my yard fella, my house cleaning person, and the folk who deliver my Chron. That is what you are supposed to do.
This past Saturday, my neighbor from across the street poured concrete to finish off his new driveway. That is the featured photo. They had to tear up part of the existing driveway, set out the rebar, pour the concrete, smooth and level it out, all in one day.

Soon to be former MAGA Cong. Kay Granger of the Fort Worth area has not cast a vote in congress since this past summer. Nobody has seen her. Poof, she kind of disappeared. A Dallas media outlet reported this past weekend that they found her in a facility for seniors with dementia issues.
Now I can pivot to last week’s story in the Wall Street Journal about President Joe Biden and his cognitive issues. According to the Wall Street Journal, Biden’s family and close aides have been covering this up and shielding him from us.
Shame on the aides, the family, the First Lady, and the President, err Old Joe. This is as selfish as one can get.
I don’t know about you, but I want the person who is holding the most powerful position on the planet to be all there. If you are not all there, well, you shouldn’t be there. When the issue first became problematic, an immediate resignation should have been put forward and let the Vice President take office. That is the responsible thing to do.
Not being forthcoming came at a high cost to our politics.
Shameful and selfish. Don’t be fooled by this bunch. They weren’t thinking about what is good for America. They were thinking about what is good for them and Old Joe. Downright shameful and selfish.

Some folks were still moaning about the College Football Playoffs (CFP) seedings and the games themselves. Two games were outright blowouts, one was so-so, and the fourth was a pretty good one, especially if you were worried about covering the line on your bet.
Two Big Ten teams, an SEC team, and an independent team won. Two ACC teams, a Big Ten team, and an SEC team lost.
All four home teams won in the first round.
Three Big Ten teams, two SEC teams, a Big 12 team, a Mountain West team, and an independent team remain in the hunt.
Nothing wrong with that.

Party City is going out of business. I guess folks aren’t partying as much as they used to, thanks to the MAGA Party.

Baseball Hall of Fame great Rickey Henderson left us on Saturday. Pneumonia got him at age 65. A 10-time MLB All Star, 2 World Series rings, and an AL MVP. His 1,406 stolen bases are an MLB record. So too are his 2,295 career runs and 335 caught stealing. He also has 33 stolen bases in the postseason.
I wonder if he got the pneumonia vaccine. Oh, well.

The Astros signed first baseman Christian Walker from the free agent market this past Friday. Walker has won the NL Gold Glove Award for first base with the D-Backs the last three seasons. He will be an improvement over what we have had at first base the last couple of seasons. Isaac Paredes will now be our new third baseman.
Walker was wearing the 53 for the D-Backs. Christian Javier currently wears the 53 for the Astros.
MLB baseball is a business, as in none of your business. I am not going to spend one second moping over losing Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker.
