Hello, 2025
I woke up this morning, turned on the flat screen, and voila, another mass murder in America. Three hours into 2025, and already ten dead on Bourbon Street, French Quarter, New Orleans, USA. Only in America.
The weapon used in the murders in NOLA early this morning was a white pickup truck with Texas license plates.
NBC’s “Today” is letting the local NOLA NBC affiliate handle coverage of the murders this morning. The local affiliate interviewed the MAGA Louisiana Lt. Governor who is in California this morning. The MAGA Lt. Gov. passed on a rumor that the white pickup truck had an ISIS sticker on it. The local affiliate anchor and NBC news quickly responded that the ISIS sticker had not been confirmed by law enforcement officials.
I can’t say I am really surprised that this news started off our 2025.

Here in H-Town, folks started setting off their fireworks around 10 pm last night and they lasted until 1 am this morning. I could hear them.

Last night I closed out the year watching one of the best flicks of all time, “Casablanca.” It was on one of the HBO channels. Great love story. Great political movie. Arguably, the Best Screenplay ever.

The 89th Texas Legislative Session begins in 13 days, Tuesday, January 14, 2025. We still don’t know who the Texas House Speaker will be.
