Local Hate
The dead fella who terrorized Bourbon Street yesterday, reportedly was born in Beaumont, Texas and had been living and working in Harris County. I guess he learned to hate here in the H-Town area. I am curious how this local hate grew inside of him. I will be paying close attention for sure.

The third hour of “Today” has been featuring reruns this week. They reran a story today on actress Karen Allen and her knitting business. She knits and has opened a store called Karen Allen Fiber Art in Massachusetts where she sells her knitwear. They mentioned her roles in “Animal house” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” I would have mentioned her role in “Starman.” I always wondered why they have not done a “Starman” sequel to let us know what happened with her kid with “Starman.”

I said this the other day:
“Today” host Hoda Kotb will do her last show on Friday, January 10, 2025. On the Xfinity channel guide, the “Today” listing has a photo of current host Savannah Guthrie and soon-to-be new host Craig Melvin. Oh, well.
They got Hoda back on the Xfinity channel guide listing.

Yesterday’s Sugar Bowl was postponed to this afternoon because of the terrorist murders in NOLA. Georgia and Notre Dame play in the final quarterfinal game of the College Football Playoffs (CFP).
The Longhorns squeaked by yesterday and will play in the CFP semifinals against Ohio State next Friday in the Cotton Bowl. I guess you could call that a homefield advantage for the Horns.

My two Beatles wall calendars don’t have dates associated with the monthly photos, so I will have to guess. In one color photo, the four are dressed in tuxedos and it appears to be from their 1965 or 1966 days. In the other, the four are in their famous Beatles suits on a 45 rpm U.S. record sleeve of “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You,” so that would be 1964.

This is from Dodgersnation.com:
Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson was introduced as a member of the Texas Rangers on Monday after the two sides finalized a two-year, $37-million contract and completed his physical.
The designated hitter made his intentions clear after joining the American League West and immediately becoming a rival of the Houston Astros.
Houston’s actions during the 2017 World Series against the Dodgers still don’t sit well with Pederson, and he didn’t hesitate to call them out at the first opportunity.
“They put together a nice little run, and it’s coming to an end,” Pederson said. “And it’s time for us to take over the [AL] West. There’s lots of things that are going in the right direction for the Rangers to be on top of this division.”
We finished 10 ½ games ahead of the Rangers last season. Oh, well.

The featured photo is Texans gear I have. We have at least two games remaining on our schedule. The final regular season game in Nashville this Sunday, and first round playoff game next weekend. We play the 3-13 Titans this weekend and Vegas has us as a point and a half underdog. Oh, well.
