Final Two
Let’s see. The MAGA controlled Texas legislature put the Harris County Clerk in control of Harris County elections in 2023. MAGA decided how elections should be run in Harris County. Gov. Greg Abbott allowed the legislation to become law.
Here is what Abbott said last week on delaying the Congressional District 18 special election:
“That election is in Harris County, and Harris County is a repeat failure as it concerns operating elections. Had I called that very quickly, it could’ve led to a failure in that election just like Harris County has failed in other elections.”
Here is how the Harris County Clerk responded:
“Since the Texas Legislature returned election administration duties to the Harris County Clerk’s Office on September 1, 2023, my office has successfully conducted eight elections — including the 2024 joint primary election — in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, the Harris County Republican and Democratic parties, Commissioners Court, and others. We remain fully prepared to conduct the Congressional District 18 election as soon as the Governor issues the order.”
This is laughable. Abbott would garner more respect if he would just honestly tell us that he is delaying the election for partisan purposes.

Tense, nail-biting, elation, are just a few words to describe the Cougars vs Blue Devils game late Saturday night. On of the greatest come-from-behind college basketball games of all time for sure.
It is down to the Final Two. H-Town is ready for tonight’s action from the Alamodome. See the featured photo. Enough said.

When the Astros fell behind 7-1 yesterday after four innings, I thought, oh, well, not again.
They came back and won in 10 innings, 9-7. Not bad at all.
Astros closer Josh Hader is 31 today. Happy Birthday, Josh!
