NRG
Dylan McGuinness of the Chron has another story on the repairs needed at NRG and his front-page story is the featured photo. We are looking at $1.4 billion for repairs. Here is an interesting line from the article:
The 23-year-old stadium certainly shows more signs of wear-and-tear than its MLB and NBA counterparts in Houston, but the repair numbers offered by recent assessments seemed astronomical to some: $1.4 billion is needed over the next 30 years in maintenance and capital projects.
Here is the entire article: NRG Stadium needs $1.4B in repairs. Scroll through top priorities.
It looks like the Astros and Rockets take care of Daikin Park and Toyota Center. We can’t say that about the Texans, Rodeo and Harris County taking care of NRG. That is a shame. NRG is fixing to host the World Cup. Get your act together.

This is in the Chron today:
The two U.S. senators from Texas are hoping to bring one of NASA’s famed space shuttles to what they call its rightful home – Houston.
Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, both Republicans, introduced a bill on Thursday that would move space shuttle Discovery from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Virginia to a nonprofit near the Johnson Space Center in Houston – likely Space Center Houston, though that’s not spelled out in the bill.
“It’s long overdue for a retired NASA space shuttle to rest at Houston’s Johnson Space Center so Texans can see, learn from and enjoy it for generations,” said Gov. Greg Abbott in a statement, who is supportive of the federal effort.

I don’t think moving a space shuttle to H-Town is a big deal to most folks around here.

We all know that MAGA State Sen. Paul Bettencourt is on a mission to make it difficult for folks to vote. He now wants to make it illegal for state employees to hand you a voter registration card. Think about it. He is making a harmless gesture a crime. What a tool.
