Mail Ballots

The folks that run the Harris County Elections want you to vote. They really do. I learned yesterday that a voter in the Pasadena runoff had her mail ballot returned. It turns out she forgot to include her official identification number on the mail ballot envelope. The elections folks also included an envelope with paid postage so the voter could return the corrected mail ballot. A very nice gesture by the elections folks. I am betting that once Sen. Paul Bettencourt hears the Harris County elections folks are providing postage paid envelopes for corrected mail ballots, he will propose legislation to outlaw this great service. That is my 2024 mail ballot in the featured photo.

Sen. John Cornyn tweeted this:

Cornyn vs Paxton: A test of character:

Who are you kidding? Far from a test. More like which of these two jokers will end up being the slimeball candidate nominated by MAGA.

I must hand it to “Today” and their concert series. They had on Latin pop star Sebastián Yatra this morning who sang his tunes in Spanish. He had his legions of fans singing along. There have been other times that artists have performed in Spanish on the “Today” plaza. Cool. Nice.

One of my favorite Sebastián Yatra’s performances is “Dos Oruguitas” from “Encanto.” In a cool moment this morning, he sang a few lines from this tune to a young fan on the plaza.
