The Beatles

The featured photo is a Houston Methodist ad in yesterday’s Chron hard copy with Yordan Alvarez. I don’t know about the ad. Yordan is dinged up and hasn’t been in a game since May 2. Oh, well.

Commentary worked this Memorial Day Weekend. I am even working today. I will have some time off in a couple of weeks.

I did have time to listen to The Beatles channel on SiriusXM. The Beatles channel had their Top 100 Beatles Tunes program this weekend. This is where listeners vote on their top Beatles tunes of all time. The top tune this weekend is “Hey Jude,” followed by “Yesterday.” I don’t have a problem with this.

“Don’t Let Me Down” came in at number 6. I attribute this to the 2021 “Get Back” documentary that got a lot of play.

The Beatles channel has been around since 2017. In one of the first Beatles channel Top 100 Tunes program, “A Day in the Life” was the number 1 tune. “A Day in the Life” came in at number 10 this past weekend.

“Hey Jude” is my number 1 Beatles tune of all time. The Beatles have so many great tunes. I get why Beatles fans can have a different top tune.

John Lennon once said that the best lyrics he ever wrote was for “Across the Universe.” You can’t argue with that. Like I said, everyone has their own top Beatles tune.

The Memorial Day Weekend also features war movies on cable TV.  “The Longest Day” was on yesterday, but I passed because it was four hours long. Two great flicks will also air today, but I am going to have to pass on “The Great Escape” and “The Dirty Dozen.”

The Astros handled business this past weekend. They took 3 out of 4 from the AL West first place Mariners. Nice.
