Six Days Away
This morning, I saw Isaiah Martin and Christian Menefee ads for congress on KPRC Channel 2 News.
On a related note, with early voting in person six days away, I put up my Amanda Edwards for Congress yard sign in my front yard that is the featured photo.
I don’t think I have seen a single congressional candidate yard sign in my corner of CD 18.

“Today” had a feature on subtitles use on your flat screen. It turns out that a lot of young kids use subtitles on their screens. My Dad used to. I still don’t.

Today’s Chron E-Board take is about the lie used to send Texas National Guard troops to Chicago. Here is a part of the E-Board take:
Last week, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican, spoke up to criticize the deployment of Texas troops to Illinois, describing it as a violation of states rights.
“We believe in the federalist system — that’s states’ rights,” he told the New York Times. “Oklahomans would lose their mind if Pritzker in Illinois sent troops down to Oklahoma during the Biden administration.”
Stitt even called out Abbott by name, referencing their own legal fights with the Biden administration during COVID-19.
“I was surprised that Governor Abbott sent troops from Texas to Illinois,” Stitt said. “Abbott and I sued the Biden administration when the shoe was on the other foot.”
Here is the entire take: Texas troops were sent to Chicago on a lie. Bring them home, Abbott.
It is good to see the governor of Oklahoma make Gov. Abbott look like a fool.

Commentary will check out the high school football scores after the weekend. I sort of watch the teams in State Senate District 6. SD 6 has some great teams like North Shore and Summer Creek. The Chron sports section hard copy today highlights another SD 6 high school, C.E. King High of Sheldon ISD. Go Panthers!
