Voted

I received my mail ballot yesterday and I cast my first vote for Amanda Edwards for congress. See the featured photo. CD 18 has been vacant for close to seven months now.

On a related note, I am now starting to receive mail from candidates. Amanda Edwards, Jolanda Jones and Christian Menefee are the CD 18 candidates who have mailed me pieces. Alejandra Salinas sent me a mailer in the H-Town City Council At-Large Position 4 race.

The lead story in today’s hard copy Chron is about H-Town Mayor John Whitmire not raising city property taxes. Here is from the article:

Whitmire has historically waffled on a trash fee

What does this mean? H-Town has never had a trash fee. A trash fee has been discussed for the past twenty years or so. The Mayor has had to get the Solid Waste Department in shape first before he decides whether to propose a garbage fee.

Yesterday, my Ford Explorer would not crank up. Some of the electronic gizmos were working and some said they were not working. I had my ride towed to the dealership. I ended up having to get a new battery. I have had my Explorer for over four years. I am glad it was just a battery issue.

A week ago, we were fighting for a spot in the MLB playoffs. It feels like it was ages ago. Oh, well.
