It is On

The featured photo says it all. It is on. I will be voting in the 18th Congressional District Special Election runoff once I get my mail ballot, then I will be voting in the 7th Congressional District March 3, 2026, Democratic Party Primary. That is fu_ked up.

We will see in the coming days who ends up filing. We will also see if Cong. Jasmine Crockett runs for U.S. senator.

It will certainly be an interesting weekend.

On a related note, Christian Menefee tweeted this yesterday:

Working people in TX-18 do not need another speech about the economy. They need someone who will fight for better wages and more opportunities.

I don’t even know what that means.

I have learned to live with the following from today’s Chron:

A busy section of Interstate 10 near the Heights will be reduced to two lanes next week — and stay that way through the middle of next year — as construction crews work on a $400 million elevation project that will close connector ramps near Interstate 45 and disrupt commutes for months.

Beginning Friday night, the Texas Department of Transportation plans to temporarily close all westbound lanes on I-10 between I-45 and Taylor Street for the White Oak Bayou Elevation Project. The total closure lasts until Monday morning, when TxDOT says it will open two lanes on I-10 — and it will stay that way through mid-2026.

The lengthy closure comes after two other westbound lanes of I-10 between I-45 and Studemont were closed earlier this year.

Here is the entire read: I-10 closures will increase traffic near the Heights until mid-2026.

Folks know I am a Heights resident. This is a pain in the arse for sure. I go to Target and PetSmart off Taylor and I-10 and the Kroger on Studemont, all near ground zero. You learn how to navigate this crap. You know what hours work best and what to avoid. Still, it is a mess.

Eva Mintz and his Chron E-Board slammed H-Town Mayor John Whitmire again in today’s hard copy. This time on the handling of an ICE case. Go check it out. Oh, well.

Have a safe filing deadline weekend.
