Texan Hangover

It is about time. Commentary is talking about only having one MLK Parade in H-Town today. I always thought it was dumb and ridiculous to have two parades. Congrats to H-Town Mayor John Whitmire and others for getting everyone on the same parade route.

On “What’s Your Point” yesterday, the Texas Breitbart fella said the ICE thugs in Minneapolis “are not the problem.” On Donald Trump and Greenland, the Breitbart fella bumbled his way through an explanation saying that this was a Trump “art of the deal” thing that got a clearly audible groan from his fellow panelists. This Breitbart fella is three galaxies or so detached from reality.

I will say that host Greg Groogan can only take so much of Trump. On Greenland and Trump going after Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Groogan called it “Trump derangement.”

I used to call them Oiler Hangover Mondays. During the Luv Ya Blue days, the team would lose Sunday playoff games, and H-Town would be bummed out the following Monday. The hangover didn’t have anything to do with booze. It was just the feeling we all felt. The Steelers, the Bills, the Chiefs, – we remember all too well.

The 0-3 start. The 10-game winning streak. The swarm defense. The thumping we put on the Steelers last week all got our hopes up for sure. It all came crashing down yesterday. Clever front-page headline from today’s Chron hard copy as in the featured photo.

The defense could only do so much. The Texan QB is not ready for prime time. I get why the head coach and players are sticking by him. I don’t see him taking us to the Super Bowl. It was an atrocious performance.

And that is why we have a Texan hangover today.
