Super Bowl Weekend
As Americans head into Super Bowl Weekend and the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, we are reminded that MAGA is racist pure and simple and don’t bother arguing with me. See this from an online story from CNBC:
Donald Trump shared a racist image overnight showing former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama portrayed as apes.
The depiction of the Obamas, posted late Thursday from Trump’s official Truth Social account, was included in a video clip pushing a conspiracy theory about voting machines during the 2020 election.
Asked for comment, the White House immediately responded in defense of Trump’s post.
“This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from the Lion King,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in an emailed statement.
“Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public,” Leavitt said.
I will say that South Carolina U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, who is African American, condemned the post and asked that it be removed. The rest of MAGA is okay with it.
Sen. Scott actually tweeted this:
Praying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House. The President should remove it.
Notice how Sen. Scott said “most racist thing,” an admission that there have been other racist things.

This is in today’s Chron hard copy:
Wesley Hunt may be the least known among the Republican U.S. Senate candidates, but he’s become the most dangerous to U.S. Sen. John Cornyn’s career.
With various internal polls showing he’s neck-and-neck with Cornyn for second place in the March 3 GOP primary, Cornyn’s allies in Texas and Washington have ramped up their spending to hammer Hunt, particularly in Houston. If Hunt were to finish second behind Attorney General Ken Paxton in the first round of the primary, they are likely to head to a runoff in May while Cornyn’s career comes to a halt.
I look at the bright side. In 25 days, one of these bozos above will be a loser and on his way to the sidelines.

According to “Today” this morning, 113.7 million Americans will attend a Super Bowl party on Sunday. Commentary is not among the 113.7 million. I will stay home this weekend glued to my flat screen. The Opening Ceremony today, the Winter Olympics tomorrow, and Super Bowl coverage on Sunday.
I got popcorn, cheese, nuts, crackers, assorted berries, other goodies, and of course, Saint Arnold to keep me going.
As for the Super Bowl, I don’t have a favorite, I just want a good game and great commercials.

Have a safe Super Bowl Weekend.
