CNN tweeted this earlier this morning:
Trump says US and Iran will hold new talks Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, after weekend strikes test fragile ceasefire. Tehran has not confirmed the meeting.
Trump started this war and we are now in the umpteenth peace talk deal announcement or something like that over the past few weeks.

Unless I am wrong, yesterday was the first time a pep rally was held at the H-Town Waterwall Park. Brazil soccer fans gathered yesterday at the Waterwall to cheer on their team before today’s Brazil-Japan Round of 32 game at Reliant, err Houston Stadium.
It ought to be a fun World Cup week in H-Town. This Saturday, July 4, Canada will play either Morocco or Netherlands. If Morocco wins this evening, I wonder how many folks from Casablanca will be flying into town.
I was in the East End this past Friday afternoon running an errand. I drove by the Metro Rail station at Harrisburg and Lockwood. I saw a steady stream of fans heading to the station to ride to the Fan Fest. Cool.

The resulting list, A Portrait of America in 25 Buildings and Monuments, features iconic landmarks from Washington, D.C., to Houston, and from historic memorials to cutting-edge urban projects TIME.
The Houston Astrodome was selected as one of the top entries. It was chosen by Maria Nicanor, director of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, who praised it as a symbol of America’s innovation, experimentation, and ingenuity in the 1960s TIME+1.
Why the Astrodome?
- Historic innovation: Opened in 1965, it was the world’s first air‑conditioned domed stadium, a bold engineering feat that influenced stadium design for decades KHOU.com.
- Cultural impact: It became a destination for millions, hosting sports, concerts, political events, and even serving as a refuge for Hurricane Katrina evacuees in 2005 KHOU.com.

It is Astrodome time. See the featured photo. This announcement from Time Magazine ought to get folks to do something about the Astrodome but we all know it won’t. When it comes to deciding on what to do with the Astrodome, there is a serious case of political laziness.

International World Cup visitors ooohing and aaahing over how great NRG Stadium is vs. the McNairs and local politicians telling us it’s a dump and an embarrassment and taxpayers need to cough up a few billion for a new stadium is…jarring.

I know about the McNairs dissing Reliant Stadium. I have not heard any local politicians talking bad about Reliant. I don’t know of any elected officials discussing taking tax dollars and putting them into a new football and rodeo venue.
