Brutal and Honest Takedown

I would have to say that the editorial cartoon in today’s opinion page of the Chron hard copy is a brutal and honest takedown of Cancun Cruz. Cancun is properly depicted as Donald Trump’s punkarse. See the featured photo.

Trump says: “Your wife is ugly.”

Cancun replies: “Yes sir. Absolutely sir. But can we talk about James Talarico’s lack of manhood?”

So lovely.

It looks like I may lose my Astros season tickets. This is what the Astros emailed me yesterday:

I wanted to reach out to you to make sure you were aware of the Astros Season Ticket Holder Terms and Conditions that limits the resale of your Season Tickets to no more than 50% of your tickets each season.

In addition, I would love to update you on all the ways the Astros can assist you in getting the absolute best value for your Season Ticket Package including Season Ticket Holder Exchange and Split Season Tickets.

As a reminder, maintaining compliance with the Season Ticket Holder terms and conditions helps ensure your seat location and, where applicable, your CSL agreement remain in good standing.

Here is how I responded:

Thanks for reaching out. I have been a season ticket holder since 1994 at the Astrodome. I have had my current seats since 2000 when then Enron Field first opened. I told S____ last year that I am not a “ticket broker.” I love my seats. I just don’t attend as many games as I have in the past. If family or close friends can’t use them, I put them up for sale.  I don’t make money off of them. I am not interested in exchanging them or splitting them.

According to the Astros season ticket holder policy, reselling more than 50% of your tickets is considered a ticket broker. They do not provide a definition of ticket broker.

Here is the deal. The Astros allow you to sell your tickets via Seat Geek. The Astros also know when I sell them and for how much. Kind of creepy.

They sent me a similar letter last season, and I talked to them and told them I was not a ticket broker.

I consider myself a loyal Astros fan. I am a season ticket holder because I support the team, like going to ball games, and like my seats. I have also spent a ton of dough on the Astros over the years. I will find out soon if the Astros value loyalty. Oh, well.
