Sad
Former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was interviewed by Craig Melvin on “Today” this morning. See the featured photo. She is selling a book. She is just reminding us of her bumbling husband during the last year of his term. Sad.

On “What’s Your Point?” yesterday, no one really pushed back on cheating, crooked Ken Paxton being a sleaze bag. It is a given. Panelist crime victim advocate April Aguirre said she would not vote for Paxton.

Sir Paul McCartney was interviewed by Willie Geist yesterday on “Sunday Today.” Willie asked Sir Paul if he had a favorite Beatles album. Sir Paul replied with “Rubber Soul,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and “Abbey Road.” I don’t have a problem with that, and you shouldn’t either.
One of my Beatles wall calendars for the month of June have the four sitting on a bench in a 1963 black and white photo and all wearing collarless suits with John holding a Rickenbacker. The other calendar is four black and white photos from the concert at Shea Stadium in August 1965.

I saw this last week online about Paul Simon:
“I have a feeling that if any of my songs last 100 years, ‘The Sound of Silence’ has the best chance,” he added.
The reason, Simon said, is that he has seen the song take on a life of its own.
“Somebody sent me a video of a rabbi singing ‘Sound of Silence’ in Hebrew, and I thought, ‘That’s interesting.’ And then, I saw a video of a Native American guy, just sitting somewhere in the West, playing it on a flute. I thought, ‘Well, if it’s gone that far around as a melody, maybe it’ll last 100 years.’ “
“If you last 100 years, then that’s in the culture,” Simon noted.
I wonder if Mrs. Robinson, Joltin’ Joe, Silver Girl, the whores on 7th Avenue, or the folks at Scarborough Fair agree.
The tune has been around for 62 years.
“The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” are also classics with lasting power.
Speaking of this month:
June, she’ll change her tune
In restless walks she’ll prowl the night.

There is a lot going on in the sports world. The NBA finals start Wednesday with the Spurs hosting the Knicks. A New York versus Texas thing. The Knicks have more star power courtside for sure. MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott is already putting out stupid posts on the match-up. Abbott is good at putting out stupid stuff.
The Longhorns are still alive in the Women’s College World Series. The college baseball regionals are wrapping up today.
H-Town area high schools dominated the state softball finals this past weekend. Nice job.

The Astros have today off. We need a day off.
