The Weather Report
I guess this is deserved. See this from the Chron:
Former Fort Bend County Judge KP George was sentenced Tuesday to 180 days in jail, five years of probation and fined $5,000 following his felony money laundering conviction.
The judge also ordered George officially removed from office. George was taken into custody following the hearing and said he plans to appeal.
Not much else to say on this.

Of course, this is a line from Paul Simon that I put out when we get severe weather. We got a tropical cyclone hugging the coast. For folks in the City of H-Town, it is not as bad as folks along the coast.
KPRC Channel 2 News was on at 4 am this morning providing weather coverage. They had reporters in Brazoria and Galveston counties. When the 7 am hour rolled in, Channel 2 went on ahead and aired “Today.” It is not as bad as it could have been. That is good.

This guy ought to get off the political stage. See this from the Trib:
Mike Collier, the two-time Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, has filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn Texas’ system for independent candidates to get on the ballot.
The federal lawsuit, filed in Austin last week, says that the bar for an independent candidate to get on the ballot is so high as to be insurmountable.
“No state in the nation requires independent candidates for statewide office to gather more signatures in less time than Texas, and no other state is even close,” the lawsuit says.
The fella is plain selfish. I don’t know what he is trying to prove except to be a spoiler. Please, go away.

Emmy Award winning actress Britt Lower of “Severance” was on “Today” this morning and mentioned the “birthday paradox” which is if there are 23 folks in a room, there is 50% chance that there is a shared birthday. Britt Lower was born on August 2. Dylan Dreyer was born on August 2.
That is Dylan’s book “A Peek Out Your Window” in the featured photo. It is appropriate this morning as Dylan is a meteorologist. “A peek out your window” is Dylan’s signature line when she throws weather coverage to the local affiliates.

There were a bunch of World Cup fans from other countries like Germany and Portugal at Daikin Park last night. Most of them were getting down on Dollar Dogs. They got treated to a come-from-behind Astros win. Nice.
