World Cup Week
Cheating, crooked Ken Paxton’s impeachment lawyer endorsed State Rep. James Talarico. Here is what Scott Braddock tweeted:
Democrat endorses Democrat isn’t big news in Texas. Dan Cogdell didn’t defend Paxton in his impeachment trial because he liked him. They hired Cogdell because he is one of the best criminal defense lawyers in Houston, and therefore the world.

Gina Hinojosa tweeted this yesterday:
On Monday, I’m requesting that the Speaker of the Texas House call a public hearing on the new world screwworm. Texans deserve answers.
This is how Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows responded in a tweet:
The @TexasTribune asked me for a comment about a House member calling for a hearing on the New World Screwworm and here’s what I told them:
I have been working with Governor Greg Abbott, Secretary Brooke Rollins, Commissioner Sid Miller, the House Agriculture & Livestock Committee, the House Culture, Recreation & Tourism Committee, the cattle industry, and wildlife groups to help make every tool available to address the New World Screwworm. The House has held hearings, made this an interim charge, and will hold more hearings as necessary to help. As election season approaches, I am glad to see more House members begin to recognize the importance of the cattle and beef industry to Texas.
Here is from the current scoreboard:
Screwworm 2, Texas zip.

I have said before that I stopped watching NBC’s “Meet the Press” a few years ago. Yesterday’s show confirmed why. I saw the clips on social media. Moderator Kristin Welker was interviewing Donald Trump, and he didn’t like the interview questions and went into rant mode. He called out CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN as crooked. He called Welker crooked and stupid. He got out of his chair and walked off. He totally lost it. Welker later she said that she talked to Trump by phone, and they acknowledged that the weather was a factor in the abrupt ending of the interview. Nope, nope, nope. That is not what I saw. He called her crooked and stupid. Welker is a phony and suck-up. Sad. That is why I don’t watch “Meet the Press.”
On a related note, Trump struggled to get out of the chair. I thought for a second he wasn’t. He looked shaky as he walked away. The age thing, I guess. The fella is sick.

The lead Op-Ed in yesterday’s hard copy Outlook section is penned by the Urban Reform fella and “What’s Your Point?” panelist. It is also on the top of the front page of the Outlook section. His Op-Ed deals with the Letitia Plummer and Annise Parker runoff race for Harris County Judge and the cheating, crooked Ken Paxton and punkarse John Cornyn race for U.S. Senate. It is an interesting Op-Ed. I agree with parts and disagree with parts. The Urban Reform fella took the time to present his thinking and submit it to the E-Board. More power to the fella.
The bottom half of page 2 of the Outlook hard copy section is a dozen readers providing their takes on the Plummer-Parker race. Here is one take from a reader:
We won’t vote for people associated with Israel or AIPAC. Parker was photographed celebrating the 78th birthday of the Consul General of Israel. I don’t even know who Letitia Plummer is.
Oh, well.

It is World Cup Week in H-Town. Next Sunday, June 14 it is Germany vs. Curaçao at Houston Stadium, err Reliant Stadium. If you run into Germans or Curaçaoans, be nice. Since you asked, Curaçao is in the Caribbean, and they speak Papiamento, Dutch and some English.

The Space City Home Network tweeted this yesterday:
In honor of @astros Princess Day … we want to know who is your favorite modern princess?
Tiana
Moana
Mirabel
Merida
They are talking about Disney Princesses.
“I’ll not let you kill my mother!”
I would have to go with Merida in the featured photo from “Brave,” followed by Moana from “Moana,” Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog,” and Mirabel from “Encanto.”
Merida went toe-to-toe with a vicious bear – not the one pictured – and whacked off her dad Fergus’s pegleg. Moana dealt with The Rock and battled the burning one thing. Tiana fought to survive in the bayou as a frog, and Mirabel had to talk about Bruno.

We lost yesterday but still won the series against the A’s. We are in Anaheim this evening to start a three-game series.
