Gavin Newsom tweeted this yesterday:
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was a husband and father who spent 35 years building a life in Houston.
ICE shot and killed him on his way to work. His family deserves the truth.
Every immigrant family deserves to live free from Donald Trump’s fear.
California stands with you.
Let me know when MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott comments on the killing.

The Chron E-Board let that right wing knucklehead Kenny Webster submit another Op-Ed, this time on the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. Sigh.
Here is a dumbsh_t line from his Op-Ed:
So when another one of these incidents happens in Houston and the usual crowd immediately starts screaming murder, it is worth slowing down for a second.
What a dumbarse this Webster fella is. I guess his idea of the “usual crowd” is local Latino leaders. I haven’t heard the term “murder” being brought up. We just want transparency and all the facts to come out.
The dumbarse Webster also calls what Latino leaders are asking for “political theater.” This moron is being totally dismissive of a major community in H-Town – the Latino community – that wants to know the truth. He is being disrespectful of the local Latino community and its leadership
It is too bad the E-Board lets itself get played by this sorry MFer.

I mentioned that I had to vote by provisional ballot in the May primary runoff because I never received my mail ballot. I was supposed to get notified by mail within 30 days whether my provisional ballot was accepted. I never received notification, so I called the elections office earlier this week. They told me they mailed me a letter on June 4 letting me know that my ballot was accepted. I am now a tad concerned. My mail ballot and my provisional ballot acceptance notification never made it to my mailbox.

Former Astors pitcher Justin Verlander announced that he is retiring at the end of this season. He did great when he was with us. We won two World Series titles when he was here, and he also won two AL Cy Young Awards as an Astro. That is his John Hancock in the featured photo that is part of my collection.

The Astros are 46-49 heading into Arlington for our final series before the All-Star break. We are two games back in the AL West.
