I have said before that I stopped watching the Sunday morning national talk shows. I made the exception this past Sunday to watch Jonathan Karl interview Cong. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on ABC. AOC was on her game. She is one of the faces of the Democratic Party’s leadership. You know she is effective because the MAGA talking heads have been attacking her Sunday interview takes. She is good.

MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott started running his general election ads this week. See this from the El Paso Times:

In the ad, Abbott is seen visiting with voters saying, “the Democrats are trying to take over Texas because I am advancing transformative policies that the Democrats are against.”

Abbott has controlled the governor’s office for more than a decade. The GOP has controlled the Texas Legislature and public policy for more than 20 years.

Abbott cites his new plan to cut property tax, the constitutional ban on state income tax and signing a law keeping one gender from playing in another’s sports.

“I get up every single day to go to work, to make sure the Democrat socialist policies will never take root in the state of Texas,” Abbott says in the ad.

I have seen the ad on KPRC Channel 2. I am not impressed. It is a typical dishonest attack ad on Democrats. It is silly. Not impressed.

I saw this online from ABC News:

Tyler Boebert, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s oldest son, has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a child, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Boebert of New Castle, Colorado, was arrested Aug. 9 on a warrant charging him with sexual exploitation of a child as well as “multiple other charges,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Boebert’s bond was set at $10,000, which he posted the same day, the sheriff’s office said.

Only a $10,000 bond.

I mentioned that Fifth Third and Comerica, my bank, had merged. My bank is now going to be called Fifth Third. I started getting info from Fifth Third in the mail yesterday. See the featured photo. The official transition day is Tuesday, September 8. I will still be able to have the same account numbers, bank routing number, same checks, debit card – for now. There will be changes to how I bank online, that they will let me know about later.

I will stay tuned for sure.

MLB released the playoff schedule yesterday, but I am not paying much attention to it.

We had a come-from-behind win last night in San Franciso. We still have a half game lead with 42 games remaining to be played.
