Still In First
I have said it before repeatedly. Donald Trump, Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and MAGA have no moral high ground and no claims to law and order. They are just crooked arse scum dwellers pure and simple. See the latest from AP:
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) — An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer charged with shooting a man and lying about it during the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis was released from a Texas jail Thursday, after a judge refused to order his return to Minnesota.
Christian Castro was released at the break of dawn from a detention center in Brownsville. He motioned his hand toward a few camera operators and a reporter crowding around him and quickly got into an SUV that drove off.
A day earlier, U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. wrote in an order that said he couldn’t prevent a county sheriff from releasing Castro or order Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to sign his extradition warrant.
Castro is charged in Minnesota with assault and falsely reporting a crime in the Jan. 14 shooting of 24-year-old Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis.
This is sick, but typical for MAGA. Law and order my arse.

MAGA also tends to bite off more than they can chew. See the latest in Fort Bend County from the Chron:
Fort Bend County Attorney Bridgette Smith-Lawson says a proposal to strip attorneys, staff and funding from her office is an unprecedented act of political retaliation by county leaders after she challenged Daniel Wong’s authority to serve as county judge.
The proposal, set for an Aug. 27 vote by Commissioners Court, would create a civil legal department controlled by the court and allow staff and funding to be moved from Smith-Lawson’s independently elected office. The fight raises a larger question about the balance of power in county government: how far Commissioners Court can go in shifting legal work away from an elected county attorney whose advice it no longer trusts.
Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers, who placed the item on the agenda in consultation with Wong’s office, said the proposal is not retaliation and that Smith-Lawson would retain the duties assigned to her office under state law.
The agenda item calls for creating a Legal Department — Civil Division as a separate county department “under the authority and direction of Commissioners Court” to provide non-litigation civil legal services. It also authorizes the transfer of attorneys, support staff, funding and other resources to the new department as part of the county’s fiscal year 2027 budget process.
Exactly how much of Smith-Lawson’s office could be transferred has not been determined, according to Meyers and Wong’s office.
Smith-Lawson, however, said the broadly written proposal could take more than half of her 42-person staff and leave her largely with the office’s 12-person litigation division.
“It’s going to gut it,” Smith-Lawson said. “I would not have the ability to perform all of the functions and requirements that are needed.”
Smith-Lawson said she and her staff had no warning that the proposal was coming. Her first assistant discovered it while checking the Commissioners Court agenda, she said.
“We were blindsided by this,” Smith-Lawson said. “I see it as political retaliation.”
Here is the entire Chron read: Fort Bend County attorney says legal overhaul is retaliation.
There will be payback. Voters are a lot smarter than MAGA. Fort Bend County is getting bluer every day. MAGA is being mean and dumb and dumber. They are certainly running out of ideas.
