Mail Ballot
I was called this weekend by a cheating, crooked Ken Paxton aligned group conducting a survey of voters. They are behind, folks. They tested every lying, untruthful, negative message. Open borders, human trafficking, letting criminals out of jails, child mutilation surgeries, high taxes – you get the picture. They are hurting for sure.

I got my mail ballot on Saturday afternoon. It took me 18 minutes to fill out every race. On my ballot there were 102 positions that required total shading the box in black or blue ink on three ballot sheets or five pages. There was also the City of H-Town proposition on weed enforcement. Toward the end of my ballot there were three races for the Harris County Appraisal District Board of Directors. These candidates were listed without political party affiliation, so I had to make a quick detour and do research on the backgrounds of the candidates. Since you asked, I did vote for every Democrat on my ballot, even though I had to hold my nose on a couple.
The fine print instructions that accompanied my mail ballot said 2 forever stamps were required to mail back a three-sheet ballot. I mailed my ballot Saturday afternoon. I will monitor and track my ballot this week to make sure the Harris County Clerk receives it.
See the featured photo of my vote for State Rep. Gina Hinojosa for governor.
36 days until Election Day.

I remember the very old days watching football on TV when the football spike after a TD was the thing. Then there was the “Funky Chicken” by Oilers great Billy “White Shoes” Johnson. Now there are all sorts of choreographed celebrations after TDs, interceptions, fumble recoveries and sacks. The Longhorn who simulated the urination this past Saturday after a sack deservedly got an unsportsmanlike penalty. They also should have levied a fine on some of his NIL dough.

We are back in the playoffs. The Astros came through against the A’s winning 3 out of 4 to end the season at 81-81 for first place in the AL West. We got to game 162 to finally clinch the division title.
See this from the Chron:
These Astros are the first MLB team to reach the postseason with a non-winning record in a full-length season. Just six other teams since at least 1900 have started 20-31, as they did, or worse and made the playoffs, per Baseball Reference.
As soon as fans enter Daikin Park tomorrow or flip on the flat screen to watch the White Sox and Astros, folks will forget about the 81-81 record.
Remember, we were 5-2 versus the White Sox this past season, including 3-1 at Daikin Park.
@AstrosDan tweeted this:
When Jose Altuve takes the field on Tuesday, he will have played in more postseason games than the Mets franchise.
We have a bit of playoff experience heading into the playoffs. Altuve also has 27 postseason career dingers, second most in MLB history. Yordan Alvarez has 12, Jeremy Peña has 4, plus a World Series MVP. Christian Walker played in the 2023 World Series and Christian Vázquez has 2 World Series rings.
Yordan Alvarez ended the season with the MLB batting average title and the heavy favorite to win the AL MVP Award.
The Wild Card Series games at Daikin Park will have 4 pm start times tomorrow and Wednesday.
We are still in it and that is all you can ask for. We can still #ChaseTheFight.
Hello, MLB Playoffs.
