MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott is gutless and a political coward. See this from the Chron:

Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday defended his decision not to debate his Democratic opponent — for the first time in his three-term tenure — by saying he is better off holding campaign stops around the state than facing Gina Hinojosa.

“The most important thing that a governor can do is to show up in communities,” the Republican said during a stop with local law enforcement in Tyler. “What voters want to see and hear, they want to see their governor in their community. They want to have the ability to ask their governor questions.”

Abbott, who is seeking a record fourth term in office, has been holding similar roundtable meetings across the state for weeks, using them to highlight Hinojosa’s voting record on tax and public safety bills. 

“When I go to each of those communities, I learn something new,” Abbott said. “I’m a better governor. I’m a better governor candidate by talking to those people.”

It marks the first time Abbott has not debated a Democratic challenger. Polls show he is neck and neck with Hinojosa, who has also been campaigning relentlessly across the state. Early voting starts Monday.

While Abbott was in Tyler, Hinojosa held a rally in a park in Austin and a press conference outside the governor’s mansion with side-by-side lecterns that she labeled a “debate.”

Tough guy my arse. He is afraid to defend his lousy record. He is scared of having a face-to-face with Rep. Hinojosa. Abbott does not want to confront the subject matter in the ad from the featured photo. Gutless coward.

You must think the PAC that is running the ads to vote out Democratic judges is making Democratic judges nervous. I guess Democrats in charge here in Harris County don’t think Democratic judges need ads to fight back.

Early voting in person starts on Monday.

The Texans play the Jaguars in London this Sunday.  It will be on at 8:30 am H-Town time. I wonder how many Texans fans will make the trip.
