DCCC Adds Texas’ 9th District to 2026 “Districts in Play.”
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has officially added Texas’ 9th Congressional District (TX‑09) to its 2026 “Districts in Play” list, signaling a push to win the GOP‑held seat amid rising voter frustration with Republican leadership.
Why TX‑09 is now in play?
According to the DCCC, TX‑09 was redrawn in a mid‑decade redistricting process in 2025 to favor Republicans, but new polling shows it is competitive. The district is now majority‑Latino and has been described as a “Trump +20” seat in 2024, but Democrats argue that Texans are “soured on higher costs, less health care, and Trump’s chaos.”
The DCCC says the new map “backfired” on Republicans, and that Democrats’ victories in special elections across Texas this cycle have helped put TX‑09 squarely in play.
This is great news. MAGA Alex Mealer could very well be in trouble. Show me the resources in TX-CD 9.

This is what the American taxpayers are paying for. See the featured photo. This is what MAGA allows. Straight up lack of accountability. This is what 2026 has evolved into. MAGA is his lapdog. Enjoy your next visit to the gas pump while this fool touts himself.

On a kind of related note, this is from HuffPost:
WASHINGTON ― The Senate closed up shop this week until after the midterm elections, and Republicans heading out the door seem to be feeling great ― with a sprinkle of delusion ― about their party’s chances of keeping control of Congress after November.
“I think we hold the majority of both chambers,” predicted Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio).
“There’s only one issue in this campaign, truly,” the Ohio senator told HuffPost. “If gas was $2.50 a gallon, you guys would be talking about a massive red wave in the midterms…. Gas prices will never drop with Democrats, and I think most voters are realizing that.”
“Feeling good,” said Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.), when asked about his party’s chances of holding its Senate majority. “We’re putting the right, long-term solutions on the table. We just need to get out and tell that story.”
“The people of America don’t want socialism,” he said, “and that’s what the Democrats want.”
Keep thinking about this. Keep dreaming about this. 32 days until the election.

On my mail ballot, I checked the tracker and it was received by the Harris County Clerk and is waiting for signature verification. Got it.

Some Astros fans want the team to bring back fired general manager Jeff Luhnow. That is a very bad idea. Under his watch the cheating scandal happened, we lost key draft picks and became the team America hated. That is the last thing we need. There are very capable individuals throughout MLB who could step in and handle the job.
