Commentary will be at the Pride Parade tomorrow evening in Downtown H-Town. There will be a ton of folks there. It is going to be hot. I will take plenty of water. See you there.

From the we are number one department, see this from the Trib:

The point at which Latinos would outnumber white residents to make up the biggest share of the Texas population has been on the state’s demographic horizon for years.

It seemed that long-awaited milestone was reached in 2021 when a closely watched data release last year was the first to reflect the culmination of decades of transformative growth.

But confirmation did not come until this week, when the U.S. Census Bureau updated its official population estimates. In new figures released Thursday, the bureau confirmed Latinos have made up the largest share of the state’s population since at least July 2022. The new population figures show Hispanic Texans made up 40.2% of the state’s population last summer, barely edging out non-Hispanic white Texans, who made up 39.8%.

Every time there is a State Dinner at the White House, Commentary will go to the White House website to check out the list of those who were invited and attended. There was a State Dinner last night for the Prime Minister of India and I checked out the list this morning. Hunter Biden was on the list. Not surprisingly, Hunter Biden attending the dinner was one of the lead stories on “Today” this morning.

Go on ahead and give ammo to the GOP. Oh, brother. Sigh.

Former Astros pitcher Jim Deshaies is 63 today. Jim played for the Astros from 1985-1991. He was also one of our Astros games TV announcers. Now he is in the broadcast booth for the Cubbies. Happy Birthday, Jim Deshaies!

The team is at Dodger Stadium for the weekend. Good luck to all the Astros fans in LA who will face the ire of the sore loser Dodger fans.

This is the start of a roadie that will also take us to San Luis and Arlington.
