A few months ago, I got the glasses in the featured photo in the mail. It was a promotion by Mountain Dew. I stored them away. It turns out they are ISO 12312-2 certified. When I put them on indoors, I can’t see anything. I will try them out tomorrow morning and check out the annular eclipse.

Here in Texas, GOPers are going after each other for accepting contributions from neo-Nazi supporters.
On the national level, GOP U.S. House members can’t agree on who should be House Speaker.
That is all you need to know about the 2023 GOP.

63 years ago today, arguably the most dramatic World Series game was played. Commentary is talking about Pittsburgh’s Bill Mazeroski’s bottom of the ninth walk-off dinger against the Yankees in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series for a 10-9 win. The Yankees outscored the Pirates in the seven games 55-27 but still lost the series.

The MLB LCS playoffs are set.
Here are the regular season records of the four remaining teams:
90-72, Phillies.
90-72, Astros.
90-72, Rangers.
84-78, D-Backs.
MLB went to a League Championship Series format in 1969.
When the Astros were in the National League, we played in the NLCS in 1980 and lost to the Phillies, lost to the Mets in 1986, lost to the Cardinals in 2004, and finally beat the Cardinals in 2005.
This will be our seventh consecutive ALCS, an AL record. Of the past six, we have won four. We beat the Yankees in 2017, 2019 and 2022, and beat the Red Sox in 2021. We lost to the Red Sox in 2018 and Rays in 2020.
Most appearances in the LCS: Yankees 18, Dodgers 15, Cardinals 14, The ATL 13, Red Sox 12, and A’s, Astros, and Phillies 11 each. Got it?
Our record against the Rangers in the regular season this year was 9-4. That does not mean anything.
Sunday’s game starts at 7:15 pm. I will be there.
Go, Astros!
