Sloppy Journalism

As of this morning, we are down to a little over 4,600 CenterPoint customers in the H-Town area without power. That is still 4,600 too many. We are getting there. I still feel for all of them.

On last night’s acceptance speech, this tweet is from the Quorum Report’s Scott Braddock:

Bottom line from tonight: If Democrats can’t beat that guy, it’s because they’re not even trying.

And this tweet from Austin journalist Ken Herman:

This speech might never end.

Apparently, this happened with front page newspapers throughout the country this morning. The featured photo is from the front page of today’s Chron hard copy. I would call it sloppy journalism. The newspapers reported Donald Trump’s prepared remarks and not the speech he delivered which was hardly a unity speech. Sloppy journalism for sure.  We should expect better.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow did a great job of introducing her show last night reminding folks that the GOP was fixing to nominate a twice impeached, convicted felon, rapist, and insurrectionist. Thank you, Rachel, for reminding us of what other media folks have seem to have forgotten.

Yeah, I forgot. The former First Lady made a rare campaign appearance last night. Oh, well.

Commentary said this yesterday:

If former President Barack Obama chimes in on the former Speaker Pelosi side, ballgame.

This is from the Detroit News:

In recent days, Obama has taken calls from congressional leaders, Democratic governors and key donors in which he has shared their unease about the prospect of Biden’s campaign following his calamitous June 27 debate performance against his predecessor, Donald Trump.

I don’t see how President Biden can continue with so many Democrats across the country saying he should exit the race. Stay tuned.
