Commentary watched the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics on Friday, twice. I watched it in real time Friday afternoon, and then the primetime replay Friday evening. It was the best Olympics Opening Ceremony I have ever watched.

Eight days ago, Commentary took my ride to the body shop to get it repaired after it was dinged up by my carport that blew over thanks to Beryl.  The car had some nasty scratches and a badly dented hood that will probably have to be replaced. See the featured photo. When I dropped off the car, the body shop representative told me it would likely be a couple of weeks before my car would be ready. Yesterday, I got a text from the body shop letting me know that the estimated time for repair completion is September 16, 2024. Yup, like the Diez y Seis. This Beryl hangover is killing me.

I watched the Texas State Senate committee hearing yesterday on CenterPoint and the response to Beryl. All the state senators were on the same page yesterday. We will see how long that lasts.

That was an ugly bullpen loss last night. We need to get past this. We made a trade last night for a starting pitcher with a 4.75 ERA and 4-9 this season. Sigh.

The trade deadline is this afternoon. We will see if we make any more moves.

We are still tied for first in the AL West and tonight is Dollar Dog Night.
