Great Team

This is sad. Talk about being bitter. See this from the Chron:

Democratic Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg blasted crime, singling out crimes committed by immigrants at one point, in crossing the aisle and endorsing U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in his reelection bid against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred.

The endorsement, Tuesday evening at a Cruz campaign event in Houston, comes as Ogg has increasingly been at odds with her party. The Harris County Democratic Party voted to admonish Ogg late last year and she was defeated in the March primary election.

Ogg took the stage in a white pantsuit in front of a packed house, telling the crowd her constituents hated crime and expected government to protect them. But, she said, the country’s laws and policies don’t always do that. She pointed to 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray’s murder by two Venezuelan nationals as an example of Houston’s crime problem.

Ogg said that had Cruz’s Justice for Jocelyn bill been law ahead of her murder, she would still be alive. She recently penned a joint op-ed with Cruz in the Houston Chronicle supporting the legislation to keep migrants in detention if beds are available.

“We are seeing a problem at our border, and I am taking this opportunity to endorse Senator Ted Cruz,” she said after describing a series of crimes committed by those in the country illegally in Houston.

Studies show that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens. Immigrants without legal authorization in Texas were 26% less likely than a native-born United States citizen to face a homicide conviction, with immigrants in the country legally 61% less likely.

Cancun Cruz is the least respected U.S. Senator. If you are going to endorse a GOPer, pick one who has a bit of dignity. Cancun Cruz is bottom of the barrel material. Pitiful.

We have a great team. See the featured photo. There was an enormous amount of energy in Philly last night. Gov. Tim Walz is the real deal.

Wow. Framber Valdez was one out from a no-no last night. He didn’t get it, but we got the win. We wrap up our season series with the Rangers this afternoon in Arlington.
