Oh, I can gather all the news I need on the weather report

Commentary is going to listen to the H-Town Mayor from the featured photo last night and stay at my place for the next couple of days. I really don’t have any reason to be out and about.

I am sure you saw this breaking news. Here is from the Chron:

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden on Monday pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, in an extraordinary use of the powers of the presidency in his final hours to guard against potential “revenge” by the incoming Trump administration.

Here is how Donald Trump reacted to the pardons in a text to an NBC journalist this morning.

“It is disgraceful. Many are guilty of MAJOR CRIMES! DJT”

I guess the pardons were warranted. Oh well.

I have said it before. The voters decided. I have been through this before since I have been voting. In 1973, 1981, 1985, 1989, 2001, 2005, and 2017. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I will just get through today.

Let’s see if the mass deportations begin in the next day or so.

It is a bit interesting. Since the election last November, no Democrats have stepped forward to lead us during this time. Personally, I will be glad to see President Joe Biden head to Delaware and exit the stage for good. We have not heard much from Vice President Kamala Harris since her loss. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries have not demonstrated a willingness to lead us. We are waiting to see who the Democratic National Committee will elect as our new Chair. I don’t consider former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama as our Democratic Party leaders, and they probably don’t either. On this January 20, 2025, Democrats are without a national leader. In the coming months, we will see who emerges as our Democratic Party leader or leaders.

The Texans were Texans this past Saturday. They have yet to win in the divisional playoff round.

Stay warm and have a safe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
