Abbott Ads

This is from the lead story on the front page of today’s hard copy of the Chron:

Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday ordered the Texas Rangers to investigate the April 2023 Lotto Texas draw in which a single player guaranteed it would win a $95 million jackpot by purchasing virtually every one of the 25.8 million possible number combinations.

Let’s see. The Chron and the Trib have been writing about the Texas Lotto scam for a few months now. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has been calling out the Texas Lotto for the last couple of weeks. Gov. Abbott is getting on the late train if you ask me. Not exactly a quick pick.

Speaking of Gov. Abbott, he is featured in pro school voucher TV ads that are running in the H-Town market. They are being paid for by the Club for Growth as seen in the featured photo. I dialed the number listed on the ad and it is the Capitol Information line.

Colony Ridge is in Liberty County. Liberty County is next to Harris County on Harris County’s northeast side. Yesterday, the feds and state raided Colony Ridge.  The Chron has a story about the raids. The story says the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was not asked to participate in the raids.

Grammy Award winning artist Roberta Flack left us yesterday. She won back-to-back Record of the Year Grammys with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and “Killing Me Softly.”

She was also a resident of The Dakota in New Your City, when her fellow Dakota resident John Lennon was murdered right outside of the building in 1980.
