Dumb Signs

The Chronicle just posted that Cong. Sylvester Turner left us last night. The past hour and half folks were texting each other trying to confirm the rumor that the former H-Town mayor had passed. All of us are shocked to say the least. Wow!

My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all who were close to him.

Channel 2 news has now reported this and H-Town Mayor John Whitmire addressed Sylvester’s passing this morning at the city council meeting.

Commentary is still patiently waiting for the Democratic Party’s counteroffensive against MAGA in Washington, D.C. I hope it is more than those dumb signs in the featured photo from last night’s speech. That was lame if you asked me. The better strategy would have been to just sit there in silence without stupid signs. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries need to up their game. Their Democratic colleagues looked lost.

I also thought Cong. Al Green’s disruptive behavior was pointless and silly.

The only bright spot for Democrats last night was the response by U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan. She touched on the economic issues that are important to middle class Americans. I am glad she wasn’t holding a dumb sign.
