The Quorum Report’s Scott Braddock, put out an item Friday that Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa was considering not running for reelection for Chair, and throwing his support behind former State Senator Wendy Davis. That is certainly news to me. What is this all about?
Sounds like shenanigans. Commentary respects Sen. Davis. I would hope she is not part of a game being played. Too much is at stake this November.

My pal Off the Kuff said his face is turning blue waiting for the Chron E-Board to put out endorsements in certain races. Back on January 23 earlier this year, the Chron E-Board put out their endorsement guidelines. I don’t think Charles Kuffner looks good in blue face so maybe this might explain stuff. Here is a part:
Any races we’re skipping? Yes. To protect quality, we’ve had to reduce quantity. We won’t recommend primary candidates for county courts of law or justices of the peace, or for civil, family or juvenile benches. We regret these omissions and hope to include them in future elections.

For years now, Commentary’s pancake mix of choice has been Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Buttermilk. It is great and delicious. All you add is milk, an egg, and a tablespoon of oil. Great source of fiber. A couple of decades or so ago it was available at Kroger. Then Kroger stopped selling it, so I had to go to Central Market. I would buy two boxes at a time because I only go to Central Market like twice a year.
During the early phase of the pandemic, Central Market stopped selling it. I went online to the Hodgson Mill website and ordered two boxes at a time – twice. I am down to my last box, so I went online to place another order this past weekend and it is no longer available. They apparently stop making it. It is gone. Sad.
I guess I am going to see if there is a worthy replacement or figure out how to make it from scratch.

Hall of Fame Dodger Manager Walter Alston sits at number nine with 2,040 wins. Alston was Dusty’s manager the first year Dusty played with the Dodgers in 1976. 1976 was also Alston’s last year to manage before he retired.

The Astros have the second-best record in MLB. We are at Fenway for three starting this evening. The last time we played the Red Sox was in the ALCS last October when we won in 6, including 2 out of 3 at Fenway.
