Commentary doesn’t say much about ICE and their work these days. I will let the featured photo do the talking from today’s Chron. That’s what America voted for last November. It does not surprise me, and it should not surprise you.

ABC News is letting go one of their top journalists for telling the truth. See this from AP:

Correspondent Terry Moran is out at ABC News, two days after the organization suspended its correspondent for a social media post that called Trump administration deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller a “world class hater.”

The network said Tuesday that it was at the end of its contract with Moran “and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision not to renew.”

Sad, sad, sad.

This just dropped from the Chron:

A familiar face is planning a comeback to Houston’s political scene.

Former Houston Mayor Annise Parker announced Wednesday that she will run for Harris County judge in 2026. Parker, who led Houston for two terms from 2010 to 2016 and made history as the first openly gay mayor of a major U.S. city, declared her intent to run for Judge Lina Hidalgo’s office following a more than nine-year hiatus from office.

“Now more than ever, the people of Harris County need a strong, competent leader,” Parker said. “I have the experience, I have the background, and I’m ready to prove that to the residents of Harris County.”

Her decision to run came amid a climate of widespread uncertainty, Parker said. As Republican state leaders follow lock-step with President Donald Trump, whose first months in office have been marked by large-scale funding cuts and political unrest, Parker said the county needs a leader who can weather the storm.

“Considering what’s happening in the chaos in Washington and the culture war diversions in Austin, the fundamentals of Harris County are on shaky ground right now,” Parker said. “Harris County has to be prepared for increased storms and flooding.”

Parker is the first major Democratic candidate to emerge as a contender for Hidalgo’s seat. Hidalgo has not publicly stated whether she intends to run again.

And this:

I guess Annise is thinking Judge Hidalgo won’t run for reelection. If it ends up being an open seat, others will jump into the race. I will say it again. The last time Annise was on a ballot was in 2013.

My best friend and I went to Dollar Dog Night yesterday. We had two dogs, peanuts, Saint Arnold, and great conversations. We lost a game that we should have won.
