Juneteenth

Today is June 19, Juneteenth, a national holiday. KPRC Channel 2 News was live this morning from Galveston, the Juneteenth birthplace. Channel 2 News anchor Sofia Ojeda was reporting from in front of the “Absolute Equality” Juneteenth mural. The mural is today’s featured photo. Nice.

I will say it again. It was the late State Rep. Al Edwards who first made me aware of Juneteenth back in the late 1970s.

Banks are closed today and the mail will not be deivered.

Thursday (Today) no collection services. Facilities are closed.

Thursday curbside garbage collection is rescheduled to Friday. All other service lines -recycling, yard waste and heavy trash will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day.

Friday curbside garbage collections is rescheduled to Saturday. All Facilities will re-open.

All collections services resume normal operations on Monday, June 23, 2025.

This bozo decided to leave the Democratic Party yesterday because the MAGA GOP best represent his values. Commentary is talking about Fort Bend County Judge KP George. 

Here is how George’s 2022 MAGA opponent for County Judge, Trever Nehls welcome him:

“Democrat County Judge KP George has been indicted and stands accused of faking racist posts to interfere with an election. Now, with court dates piling up in multiple cases, he suddenly wants to reinvent himself as a Republican?”

And this:

“This isn’t a shift in beliefs. It’s a calculated move to escape accountability.”
