New York City
Close to one million voters voted in New York City’s Democratic Primary yesterday and see this from CNN:
Zohran Mamdani delivered a political earthquake Tuesday in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary, riding progressive demands for change in a city facing an affordability crisis to the brink of a stunning victory.
Democratic voters rejected a scandal-plagued icon of the party’s past, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Instead, they backed a 33-year-old democratic socialist who energized young voters and progressives with a campaign that could come to represent the first draft of a new playbook.
Some in the MAGA world including our own Cancun Cruz are ridiculing last night’s election results. Mamdani is a Democratic Socialist. He is not accused of sexual harrassment and he has never been indicted by the feds for bribery. Why not respect the will of a million Democratic Primary voters in the Big Apple.
I did not follow closely the mayoral race in New York City. I do know that AOC and Sen. Bernie Sanders endorsed Mamdani. More power to Mamdani if he did in fact energize younger voters.
