Paxton

We all heard about this yesterday. See this from the Trib:

State Sen. Angela Paxton announced Thursday she has filed for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

“I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,” Angela Paxton, R-McKinney, said in a post on X. “But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”

In her divorce filing, Senator Paxton alleged that her husband had committed adultery, listing it as the “grounds for divorce.” The couple stopped living together more than a year ago — “on or about June 1, 2024” — according to a copy of the filing obtained by The Texas Tribune.

In his own statement, Attorney General Paxton cited the “pressures of countless political attacks and public scrutiny” as the reason the couple had “decided to start a new chapter.”

Cheating, crooked Paxton wants to be our next U.S. Senator. He is also all in one thousand percent into Donald Trump and MAGA. I guess he thinks his adulterous cheating ways are not a negative factor in a 2026 MAGA primary. It is telling that Paxton cites “political attacks and public scrutiny” as the reasons for the personal situation he finds himself in. Instead of taking responsibility, he is trying to play the victim.

A spokesperson for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) tweeted this yesterday after the news broke on the divorce:

What Ken Paxton has put his family through is truly repulsive and disgusting. No one should have to endure what Angela Paxton has, and we pray for her as she chooses to stand up for herself and her family during this difficult time.

Oh, yeah, sure. The NRSC is supporting Sen. John Cornyn. If Paxton knocks off Cornyn in the 2026 MAGA primary, the NRSC will be Paxton’s biggest cheerleader in the 2026 general election.

Maybe this latest on the cheating, crooked Paxton won’t hurt him the MAGA primary next March, but it will have some impact in the 2026 general election.

Another “Superman” flick hits the big screen today throughout H-Town. My favorite was the 1978 “Superman” with Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, Susannah York, Ned Beatty, Glenn Ford, Jackie Cooper, Valerie Perrine, and of course, Marlon Brando. It introduced great special effects. It was a believable plot line. It had a stirring and memorable score by John Williams. Even the credits were cutting edge.

From the 1978 “Superman:”

Superman: “I’m here to fight for truth, and justice, and the American way.”

Lois Lane: “You’re gonna end up fighting every elected official in this country!”

There are 69 games remaining on the Astros regular season schedule. 32 at Daikin Park, 37 on the road. We have a weekend series versus the Rangers at Daikin Park as we head into the MLB All Star Game break. We are sitting pretty good right now. We are tied with the Cubbies for the third best record in MLB, right behind the Tigers and Dodgers. We have a 7-game lead in the AL West. It looks like we are going with Lance McCullers, Jr., Framber Valdez, and Hunter Brown as our starting pitchers this weekend. Let’s hope we get back to our winning ways and let’s hope we get back some of our dinged-up players, like soon.
