Cassette Tapes
“Today” had a feature this morning on cassette tapes making a comeback or revival of sorts. I did not know that. When I go to Target and I mosey over to the area where they sell flat screens and books, they have vinyl on sale. I have not seen any cassette tapes on display.
I remember when cassette tapes first came on the stage and pushed 8-track tapes off to the side. Then CDs knocked cassettes off their perch. There were boom boxes that had both the CD and cassette player. In the featured photo are some of the cassette tapes I still have. I also still have some 8-track tapes.
I don’t have a cassette tape player. I certainly don’t have an 8-track tape player. I do have a couple of CD players and a vinyl player.

The Texas State House will take up the fuc_ed up congressional redistricting today. Just so you know, State Sen. Carol Alvarado’s neighborhood and East End are proposed to be in the same congressional district with Liberty and Dayton, Texas. The Near Northside, First Ward, and Old Sixth Ward are proposed to be part of a congressional district that snakes to the outskirts of Richmond, Texas.
Cong. Sylvia Garcia’s Lindale Park neighborhood is the only neighborhood inside Loop 610 that remains in Congressional District 29. This isn’t good governance. This is how rotten MAGA is these days.
The Trib tweeted this today:
Texas Rep. Gene Wu said he plans to introduce an amendment that would make the new congressional maps conditional on President Donald Trump releasing all “investigations, prosecutions, or custodial matters” related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Good.
